The Jubilee Singers were founded in 1977 (Jubilee Year) by Denise Maxwell.
The choir started with only five ladies. Membership rapidly increased but remained ladies only. We entertained at local venues, such as WI meetings and other local organisations. We always performed a Christmas Concert in Glenridding Village Hall, involving the local school children, and a few willing and very able men folk. Eventually the men came to join the choir on a permanent basis.
We are now a four part choir with 25 members, still entertaining locally. We meet every Tuesday evening in Glenridding Village Hall at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome and if you are interested in coming along to join us, do please phone Denise on 01768 482 331.
As always, we will be performing our usual concerts in St Patrick’s Church this year. These concerts help to raise money for the Church and provide an evening’s entertainment for visitors to the area. We also intend to give two concerts in Glenridding Village Hall to help funds for the hall and the local Catholic Church. |
Concert Dates St Patrick’s Church, Patterdale The concerts last approx one hour and have a retiring collection. |
